Sustaining Church Leaders
President Oaks discusses the process of sustaining Church leaders. He presents the names of individuals for various positions and invites members to express their support or opposition. This process is important as it provides members the opportunity to openly support and accept Church leaders.
Brothers and sisters, it is my privilege to present the General Authorities, Area Seventies, and General Officers of the Church for your sustaining vote.
Please express your support in the usual way wherever you may be. If there are those who oppose any of the proposals, we ask that you contact your stake president.

Changes in Church Leadership
President Oaks announces various changes in Church leadership, including sustainings, releases, and reassignments of General Authorities, Area Seventies, and General Officers. These changes are part of the ongoing organization and administration of the Church.
The following General Authority Seventies will be released from their assignments and given emeritus status, effective on August 1, 2023: Elders Benjamín De Hoyos, Juan A. Uceda, and Kazuhiko Yamashita.
Effective immediately, we hereby release Brothers Ahmad S. Corbitt and Bradley Ray Wilcox from serving as First and Second Counselors in the Young Men General Presidency.
It is proposed that we sustain the following as the new Young Women General Presidency, to be effective on August 1, 2023: Emily Belle Freeman as President, Tamara Wood Runia as First Counselor, and Andrea Muñoz Spannaus as Second Counselor.

President Oaks invites members to express their gratitude for the service of leaders who are being released from their assignments. This recognition is an important part of honoring and appreciating the dedicated service of these individuals.
Those who wish to express gratitude to these brethren and to their wives and families for their years of dedicated service throughout the world may do so by the uplifted hand.

Support for Church Leaders
President Oaks thanks members for their faith and prayers in support of Church leaders. This support is crucial for the leaders as they carry out their responsibilities and for the unity of the Church.

New Assignments and Releases
President Oaks announces the sustainings of new Area Seventies and the releases of others. These changes demonstrate the dynamic nature of Church leadership and the ongoing need for dedicated servants in various positions.
We note that 61 new Area Seventies were sustained during the general conference leadership meetings on Thursday, March 30, and then announced on the Church’s website.
